CCSD Parent University: Let’s Communicate, Monday, 3/12, 6:30 pm at Smitha Middle School

Please join us for a Parent University program for parents of students with disabilities titles “let’s Communicate: Building Communication Across Home & School” on Monday, March 12, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Smitha Middle School.  Parents will learn strategies for supporting communication and emotional regulation.  Please see the flyer below for additional details and sign up to attend at:


Bowling with My Buddies, Friday, March 2 at 6 pm, Riverside Epic Center

Bowling with my buddies Friday, March 2 at Riverside Epic Center at 6 pm with special guest speaker, Angela Wright of Wright Peace. Angela will be discussing how to advocate for childen with special needs.

Donation $3 includes bowling, pizza, wings, and subs. Hosted by We Thrive in Riverside Renters Association.

GeorgiaCAN – GA Special Needs Conference Call, Wednesday, 2/7 at 7 pm

GeorgiaCAN is hosting a conference call on the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship or SB10. The purpose of the call is to inform current recipients and parents interested in the scholarship about upcoming potential improvements happening this legislative session.

Second Annual Evening of Inspiration on Tuesday, 2/13, 6:00 pm, at McEachern HS Performing Arts Center

The Second Annual Evening of Inspiration will be held on Tuesday, February 13, at McEachern High School Performing Arts Center.  This event features students with disabilities and is a collaboration between the Special Education Parent Mentors of Cobb, Douglas, Paulding and Marietta City Schools and the District 9 PTA. The event will begin with networking at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.

LDA Conference 2018, Hilton Atlanta, February 21 – 24


LDA’s mission is to create opportunities for success for all individuals affected by learning disabilities and to reduce the incidence of learning disabilities in future generations. LDA believes everyone can succeed at school, at work, in relationships, and in the community – if given the right opportunities and supports as needed.
