A bill that would improve the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship, has been introduced. The bill number is HB 1013. This would introduce more flexibility to how parents can use the money. So currently the funds can only be used on tuition. This would open the doors for other uses such as therapy, textbooks, and etc. As well the bill would move the scholarship out of Dept. of Education and move it to Governor’s Office of Student Achievement. If you are interested in knowing more about this bill or would be interested in advocating please contact Steven Quinn, Field Coordinator for StudentsFirstGA. Below is his contact information.
