The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) will begin piloting its IEP Facilitation project in select districts in January 2016. In preparation for this collaborative dispute prevention and resolution process, the GaDOE is seeking applications from individuals who are interested in serving as IEP Facilitators. IEP Facilitators are trained, impartial individuals who assist members of the IEP Team in developing or reviewing a student’s IEP, while also addressing conflicts and disagreements that may arise during the meeting.
The request for application form, which includes minimum and preferred qualifications, compensation, selection process, and how to apply is located on the GaDOE Division for Special Education Services and Supports website on the right-hand column under “IEP Facilitation Application”.
If you know of individuals who would be great IEP Facilitators and are not employees of State of Georgia agencies or local educational agencies, please encourage them to apply.
Application deadline is October 16, 2015. If you have questions, please contact Jamila Pollard at email@example.com or Carol Cannon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
