DSAA Education Seminar and New Parent Orientation, Saturday, September 19

Session 1: IEP’s and Managing Behavior – 9 am to 1:30 pm
Emory University Medical Education Bldg Room 170A

Debbie Dobbs, M.S, will discuss “IEP Strategies: Real World Suggestions and Tips on How to Have Effective and Meaningful IEP Meetings and Documents” and Karen Bearss, PhD will present her recent study findings on “Parent Training is Effective for Reducing Serious Behavioral Problems in Young Children.”

Session 2: New Parent Orientation – 9 am to 1:30 pm
Emory University Medical Education Bldg Room 153A

The Emory Down Syndrome Clinic will discuss medical and developmental issues for infants with Down syndrome, Debbie Dobbs, M.S, will discuss applying for the Deeming Waiver, Scott Jefferies, CLU, CFP, will discuss financial planning for families of children with special needs and DSAA parents will share some helpful resources and encouraging stories.
